In the early days of Trickster Company, Michaela Goade reached out to support our new business, designing our first catalog—an effort that quickly earned recognition and marked the beginning of a meaningful connection. Today, her work is celebrated worldwide, including her historic Caldecott Medal win for We Are Water Protectors. Her upcoming exhibition, Michaela Goade: Song of the Seasons, opening May 1, 2026 at the Anchorage Museum, celebrates the beauty of Alaska through her signature, dreamlike watercolor style—art that also lives within the pages of beloved books available at Trickster Company.

On Oct. 21st: President Joe Biden awarded Sealaska Heritage Institute President Dr. Rosita Worl with a 2023 National Humanities Medal at the White House. Dr. Rosita Worl is an important part of Trickster Company. Her love, her stories, her lessons and her values are the foundation of our mission, vision and why we do what we do. We are thankful for her wisdom, guidance and her love. The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development announced the 2024 Class of Native American 40 Under 40 Award Winners. Nominated by members of their communities, this prestigious award is bestowed upon American Indians (including Canadian First Nations), Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians who are under the age of 40 and have demonstrated leadership, initiative, and dedication while making significant contributions in their professions and communities.
