Trickster is a family-owned business growing home goods and apparel that was started in 2014 by siblings Rico and Crystal Worl. The company’s mission is to promote innovative Indigenous designs. The operations are based in south Anchorage with the family overseeing all aspects of the operation, the online retail store and wholesale.

We sell directly to consumers as well as supply gift shops, museums, and bookstores across the state and nation.  We pride ourselves in producing high quality Northwest Coast Formline art, gifts and more that come from our heart and what we call a gift from our ancestors.

Operations Manager

Family-owned business that designs and sells gifts, apparel and various products that incorporate contemporary Alaska Native design is seeking help as it continues to expand. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for someone to learn all different aspects of an expanding business and grow with the company. Must be able to work independently, make decisions, be motivated, and lead a small team. The position requires someone who can track and work on many different projects and tasks. Must be able to maintain a consist work schedule to assure employees have on-site leadership. We are looking for someone that truly believes that accomplishing success in the company’s mission will mean long-term personal success.

 

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Reports to: Owner

Hire Date: As Soon As Possible

 

Duties include:

• Supervise and train production and shipping staff.

• Oversee customer satisfaction through the production of quality products, on-time shipments, deliveries, packaging, inventory control and communication.

• Production and assembly of products from start to finish includes laser cutting, t-shirt transfers, cleaning, assembly, packaging and storing.

• Assure quality control on produced and received merchandise.

• Inventory control of parts, materials, supplies, and final products. Assure necessary quantities are in stock, organize, placement, confirm receipt of orders, etc.

• Assist with the maintenance and organization of the business’s office/warehouse and equipment.

• Packaging and shipping products to customers using Shopify.

• Provide support for trade shows, pop-up shops and other retail/wholesale events.

• Develop and document business processes and control.

• Seek opportunities to expand revenue and reduce costs.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills: Strong ability to multi-task. Ability to learn new things especially as it relates to production, inventory control, shipping, software, and maintenance. Knowledge of using computer software for items such as Shopify, emails, calendar, label printing, word processing, shipping, laser cutter, t-shirt production, operating system, and internet searches. Understand how to keep things organized. Work well with others including staff, customers, vendors, and owners.

 

Physical Labor: Some physical labor is required for deliveries, shipping, assembly, maintenance and organizing inventories.

 

Driving: Driving may be required between sites, customers, and shipping offices.

 

Starting wage: $22 - $29 per hour, plus annual performance bonus.

 

Work Hours: 30-40 hours per week based on a negotiated schedule.
